Worship Talks: The Balance Between Worship and Performance

Last Wednesday at our Worship Arts Team Gathering, we had a great discussion about finding the balance between personal worship and leading through performance on stage. This can be a tough middle ground to find at times, as we want our worship to be truthful and personal, but at the same time, we know that the congregation is looking to our team to set the standard for what is ‘acceptable’ for them to do as well. If you were there last week, what do you think were some important points we covered in this conversation? If you missed it, what are your thoughts? How can we successfully find the balance between having a personal connection during our worship, but also stepping out a bit and encouraging the congregation to walk through that door as well?
