Worship Talks: Preparation

New Worship discussion this morning. How do you prepare to lead worship? I’m asking this comprehensively, as in how do you prepare to play your instrument for a Sunday Morning, and how do you prepare your heart? Do you spend time talking to God in prayer or do you just listen and absorb the words of a worship Song in praise? I think this could be a really interesting topic for us as a ministry to discuss, and maybe learn something from each other. As vocalists, since we don’t play an instrument, I think it’s important to really soak in the lyrics and message of each song individually in preparation for leading them in our churches. I have found that it really helps me to make those words my prayer for the morning, and that goes a long way beyond just knowing the words and keys of the songs. So what do you think? How do you prepare yourself to lead on Sunday Mornings?
