Worship Talk – Success
Recently I’ve been thinking about what makes for a ‘Successful’ morning as part of a worship ministry. We’ve had a few mornings in the past few weeks, where technically, we had a rough time. Luckily, we are not the only worship ministry who has rough mornings, and thanks to the magic of social networking, we all know about it before the congregation may have even figured it out
. Still, in these mornings where we start songs in the wrong key, or when a guitar amp isn’t turned on at the beginning of a song, God still shows up. It’s almost as though we have these sorts of mornings to remind us how small we are in the light of God’s Glory. As backwards as it may sound, these ‘trainwrecks’ as Ryan calls them, help keep things in perspective, and give us the opportunity to have a little fun with each other, and sometimes that’s the kind of success we need in a morning. So what do you think? What constitutes a ‘Successful’ morning of worship? Is it technically excellent, or does it simply seek to place God in His rightful place, no matter the means?
