Song Spotlight – Phil Wickham – True Love
This song is one that we have played a few times before at Cornerstone, and for my money, I don’t think there has been a more beautiful interpretation of Jesus’ sacrifice for us put to music. We are playing this song on this coming Sunday, and I’ve spent quite a bit of time simply dwelling in the lyrics and the moment. I hope this song blesses you as it does me!
Come close listen to the storyAbout a love more faithful than the morningThe Father gave His only Son just to save usThe earth was shaking in the darkAll creation felt the Fathers Broken HeartTears were filling Heaven’s EyesThe day that True Love died, the day that True Love diedWhen blood and water hit the groundWalls we couldn’t move came crashing downWe were free and made aliveThe day that True Love died, The day that True Love diedSearch your heart you know you can’t deny itCome on, lose your life just so you can find itThe Father gave His only Son just to save usThe Earth was shaking in the darkAll creation felt The Fathers broken heartTears were filling Heaven’s EyesThe day that True Love died, the day that True Love diedWhen blood and water hit the groundWalls we couldn’t move came crashing downWe were free and made aliveThe day that True Love died, The day that True Love diedNow, Jesus is aliveJesus is aliveJesus is aliveJesus is aliveJesus is aliveOh, He is aliveHe rose againWhen blood and water hit the groundWalls we couldn’t move came crashing downWe were free and made aliveThe day that True Love died, The day that True Love diedCome close listen to the story
