About

There is a pulsing heartbeat that can be felt throughout what God is doing at Cornerstone. It’s rooted out of the passion, thankfulness, and reverence from a broken people who have been changed from the inside out by Jesus. And this heartbeat has been growing and pounding faster and faster…

…It’s the heart of worship at Cornerstone.

Leading the Worship Arts Department are two creative and zealous young men: Brian Wurzell (Worship Arts Director), and Ryan Axtell (Multi-Site Worship Arts Director). They want nothing more than to see this passion for worshipping God take over every heart in our community. “Worship shapes our perspective,” explains Brian. “This begins with humbly identifying that God is with us and then responding to Him as He reveals Himself to us. It’s far more than songs and it should find itself embedded in everything we do. We know we’re growing in worship when we find ourselves handing over to Him everything, everyday. The more consistent our daily worship becomes the louder we can sing when we gather each week!”

The worship team’s desire is to create a culture of worship in every forum at Cornerstone and that it would reflect a spirit of authentic worship. They have a dream to help build this spirit of worship—a blog resource, through the Cornerstone website, that will be hosted by Brian and Ryan. The blog will focus on subject matter around worship. It will be an opportunity for you to get to know these guys a little better, see their humor and hear their hearts. It will feature things like new worship record releases, discussions around the theology of worship, videos from our weekend services, interviews with artists and much more. Ultimately, this blog will be an interactive forum with you, where the subject of worship can be poked, prodded and encouraged!

Finally, many have been asking the question, “are the guys EVER going to record a CD of the worship we do at Cornerstone?” The answer to that question is—we invite you to join us in prayer as we dream to put a concrete answer of ‘YES’ to this question. The hope of having a resource like this for our community is a dream we’re all hoping can come true in the near future!

Remember: Let’s keep offering our God the only reasonable response in worship—the whole of our lives.
